About WeatherBox

Making Climate Data Accessible

Standard weather forecasts are designed for the short term—telling you what to expect over the next 14 days. But for long-range planning, knowing next week's weather isn't enough.

Whether you are booking a trip six months in advance, organizing an outdoor event for next year, or assessing a location for business operations, you need historical context.

We built WeatherBox to transform decades of detailed historical weather data into instant, actionable, and visually intuitive insights for individuals and professionals alike.

Our Origin: The High Cost of Bad Timing

The idea for WeatherBox wasn't born in a laboratory; it was born out of profound frustration.

A few years ago, our founding team experienced the dual sting of climate unpredictability. One was organizing a major corporate summit in what was widely marketed as a "tropical paradise", but transformed into a humid swap during moonsoon season. The other had booked a month-long backpacking trip across Europe, but was a rainy washout due to localised weather patterns. Both relied on generic weather blogs and misleading Instagram posts to plan their trips without considering the seaonal weather patterns.

Looking back at the historical records, the data clearly showed these risks existed, but it wasn't easily readable for non-meteorologists. We realized there was a gap between the raw scientific data available and the tools available to plan.

We created WeatherBox to bridge that gap, taking 25 years of climate history and translating it into a format that is easy to understand at a glance.

The Innovation: Enter the WeatherBox

Ultra-comprehensive weather & climate visualization, free to use!

WeatherBox in Action

Our core solution is the WeatherBox visualization.

We condense the complete atmospheric profile of a location into a single, intuitive visual grid. This provides a complete picture of the annual weather in one glance.

WeatherBox A complete picture of the annual weather in one glance.

Temperature Trends

Average temepratures styled with intuitive color-coded bands and descriptions.

Comfort Levels

Visually track cloud cover gradients and identify periods of high versus comfortable humidity.

Sun & Precipitation

Peak UV Index, sunshine hours, and rainy days side-by-side to understand typical weather patterns.

Who We Serve

Weather impacts nearly every decision. We designed WeatherBox as a free, accessible tool for anyone who needs to understand long-term weather patterns.

The Perfect Trip

Travelers & Adventurers

Make informed decisions about when and where to travel. Instead of relying on anecdotal advice, use historical data to find destinations that match your preferences for sunshine, temperature, and rainfall. Our comparison tools allow you to evaluate potential destinations side-by-side based on hard data.

Event Planners

Organizing outdoor events months in advance requires managing risk. WeatherBox allows planners to review 25+ years of historical data—including rain probabilities and humidity levels—to select dates with the highest probability of favorable conditions.

Professionals & Corporates

From energy companies analyzing solar viability to logistics firms managing supply chains dependent on weather, WeatherBox provides the historical data necessary for macro-level planning and assessment.

Global Climate Intelligence

Our Mission

"To make complex historical weather data accessible, understandable, and useful."

Our platform is built on three core principles:

1. Data Quality:Our insights are derived from ECMWF's ERA5 reanalysis data, leveraging a robust hourly dataset spanning 25 years (2000 to 2024).
2. Usability: We prioritize clean UI and scannable summaries, ensuring users can find the information they need quickly without needing meteorological expertise.
3. Accessibility: We believe climate data should be available to everyone. Our platform is free to use for individuals and professionals alike.
